Tonsils and Great Grandparents

Two weeks ago Landon had his tonsils and adenoids taken out. We were not excited about the prospect of our little guy going “under the knife”, but the ENT Doc told us that he would greatly benefit from it. So, we took his advice. Landon did pretty well with it, but it was so sad to see him hurting. Here is a picture the day of surgery:

Here he is 2 days later, looking much better. But, he was still pretty sore.

The best part was, of course, the popsicles!

We had a nice treat this past weekend. My grandparents, Landon and Audrey’s great grandparents, got a chance to come and visit. We had such a nice time. We hit the Olive Garden and just relaxed at home letting the kids entertain.

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks, but we are glad to be on the other side of the surgery. Landon is sleeping great–no snoring!!! We are very thankful that all went well, and we are seeing the benefits already. Next up is Audrey’s 1st birthday–only a few weeks away!

New Stuff

Well, we went another month without a post. BUT, that is all hopefully to change. Ryan set up yours truly with a new way to post pictures. That means that I, the WordPress novice, can now post pictures all by myself! Translation: more frequent posts, people! Alright, on to the new stuff:

Going for a walk in the Florida cold

Going for a walk in the Florida cold

Yes, I am well aware that it is freezing and snowing in most of the U.S., and we are complaining about our 50 high and 30 degree low weather. I would just like to point out that us Floridians not only do not invest in much cold weather gear, but we also have houses made of concrete block! We can’t keep our house very warm without breaking the bank. Okay, done with rant. I’m sure you all feel sorry for us.

Aunt Suze came to visit!

Aunt Suze came to visit!

Susan was down at Disney with her family, and we got a chance to catch up with her. We had a great day, and Aunt Suze got to spoil the kiddos. Landon knew right who to ask when he wanted a bite of his Nemo cookie (he had already had half of a football shaped cookie). Lots of fun!

Brother and sister on Valentine’s Day. How sweet.

Be sure to check out everyone’s pages, as I am a posting fool! Also, we have some new albums up on Smug Mug: follow the link on the top left to Photo Albums.

Merry Christmas!

This past year has been a doozy. We have managed to cram in three major life events. We finally moved into our new house. Technically we owned the house in December of last year, but we did not actually occupy the house until January 2009. This year was spent renovating the house, and we have the pictures to prove it!

On April 2, 2009 we welcomed Audrey Elaine McIntire into the family. She may qualify as two life events, as she has definitely been a handful. She entered this world a sweet, docile newborn, but she has evolved into a very precocious infant. She was beginning to give us orders at about 3 months. Just when you think that you have never seen such a stubborn little baby, she flashes you the most gorgeous smile. She knows how to work it. She has red hair and the most beautiful blue eyes (from her daddy). She isn’t crawling yet, but she is sitting up and making grabs for all of her toys. We are so thankful for our little girl!

In August of this year, Landon began attending preschool three days a week at a local church. He absolutely loves it! He brings home lots of drawings and projects. He is even beginning to learn how to write his name. So far, he can write the “L”. He is a ball of energy. Some of his favorite things to do are to play with his cars and play “yoosics” (music) with daddy–he has become quite the singer! He has been a great big brother. He has figured out that he can make his little sister laugh, so, occasionally, he will let Audrey “chase” him around (it’s really Mommy holding Audrey and running after him). We are so proud of him and all that he is accomplishing.

Our other major life event came when Ryan started a new job in October. Ryan was offered a position as a product manager for Presagis, a modeling and simulation software solutions company here in Orlando. He is excited about this next step in his career path. The window office isn’t too shabby either. Also, he is enjoying being a father of two. He and Landon love to “play rough”, and he has a great time “flying” Audrey around above his head. In his spare time (ha ha!), he still plays worship at our church.

Jenni is adjusting to being a mother of two. Some days are harder than others, to say the least, but she is so grateful for both of her little munchkins. She has slowly been easing back into the world of improv. She is back performing with her group OFFSIDES, and she is also doing Wednesday nights at SAK Comedy Lab with the Gen S group.

We have been blessed with some wonderful things in 2009, but we are ready for a less eventful year. Here’s to 2010! May it be filled with the everyday and the ordinary!

We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas celebrating the greatest miracle of all time!

Much love,
The Macs
