G’Day Mates!

I arrived at Brisbane today around 7 a.m. Saturday morning
(~5:00 p.m Friday – Orlando time).

I actually slept fairly well on most of the flights. It was long but very smooth. I should have known something must be up though – trouble free flights, no hassle with customs…

So… When I picked up my main luggage it looked a lot like this… :-)

Actually it looked exactly like that! But wait, there’s more!

As soon as I had picked up 3 out of 4 of my checked items I was paged at the baggage claim center. “Sir, it appears as though one of your items didn’t make it here with you.” How convenient! The one box that didn’t make it was my main rig for the trade show.

“Where did you last see it?” HaHa uhm, Orlando when I checked it. After a few minutes she located it and informed me that it should be at my hotel this afternoon. It finally got here around 8 p.m. tonight. It has been repacked and everything. I will find out tomorrow morning at setup if it still works.

After I got caught up on some sleep, today was my free day to see the city.
Check out the pictures below.

This is Victoria Bridge. It crosses the Brisbane river in the South Bank area.

This shot is of The City Botanic Gardens. It borders on the Brisbane River as well.

This is a view towards the downtown area at night.

It’s been a pretty neat day. There is a lot to see here within walking distance. Please also note that it only took me two hours of walking into people to realize that not only do they drive on the left side of the road but this also applies to walking paths, bridges, escalators etc. Cut me some slack. It was the jet lag baby!
